FAQs about Rocoto Relleno Recipe

1. Can I use a different type of pepper if I can’t find rocoto peppers?

Yes, you can use bell peppers as a substitute for rocoto peppers. However, keep in mind that bell peppers are milder in flavor and heat compared to rocoto peppers, so the final dish may not be as spicy.

2. Is Rocoto Relleno a vegetarian-friendly dish?

The traditional recipe includes ground beef and pork, but you can easily modify it to make a vegetarian version. Simply replace the meat with a mixture of vegetables, such as mushrooms, zucchini, and carrots. The rest of the recipe remains the same.

3. How can I adjust the spiciness of Rocoto Relleno?

If you prefer a milder version of Rocoto Relleno, you can remove the seeds and veins from the rocoto peppers before stuffing them. This will reduce the heat level of the dish. Additionally, you can decrease the amount of aji panca paste or opt for a milder chili paste if available.
